Hey again amazing people!
Last month, I wrote about habits you can incorporate in the morning to jumpstart an amazing day ahead. This time, I will speak about some good ideas you can include in your routine in the evening to make the ending of your day productive and meaningful. I personally have these habits at night and I really felt more purposeful doing all of them.
1. Skincare
This is a non-negotiable routine for me. Whether I'm tired from work, arrived home late or on a trip, it is essential that I make time for skincare. One night of not doing skincare can be very visible on my skin the next day, I would look more tired and a bunch of pimples, blemishes just start appearing on my skin. Always having a good skincare routine before heading to bed not only makes you feel clean, but it will also be beneficial in the long run.
2. Journal
Some people prefer doing their journal in the morning, but I personally find it more therapeutic at night. I like to write down how my day went, my realizations & learnings for the day, and whatever feelings that might be brewing inside of me. Also, it's great to have the brain dump at night especially when you have too many negative thoughts. Journaling allows you to release these thoughts and emotions, making you feel like you've unburdened yourself thus providing you a much more peaceful sleep.
3. Read a book
Spending 20-30 minutes learning something new or having my mind have a bit of imagination makes me feel like I'm using my evenings more productively rather than bingeing on TV shows or movies. I'm not saying you can't watch shows/movies before going to bed, because I still allow myself an episode to watch at night. But reading a book just have a different sense of fulfillment at the end of the day. Also, reading sometimes help me to put to sleep so I'm able to sleep at a much earlier time.
4. Drink Water
Drinking water is scientifically known to be good for your body. It helps with the blood circulation, digestion and letting your organs do its job while you are asleep. So have a glass of water at night to also help your body be at its best.
5. Stretch
There's nothing better than feeling like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders once you go to sleep. Spare some few minutes to loosen up those tight muscles to help you have much better sleep and relieve yourself from any muscle strain.
Those are the five ideas I believe that could be incorporated in one's evening routine. They are good for both the body, mind, and soul.
